Synopsis
Variables, Controls, and the Scientific Method
In this lab students can explore concepts about the scientific method, experimental design, variables, and controls, while blowing bubbles. This lab allows students to practice several process skills associated with Biology I. Students can also experience science as a scientist does through trial and error. Look for students to want to extend this lab due to the fun they will be having.

I am trying to use this with my 1st and 2nd grade afterschool kids. Any suggestions on how to key this down to their level?

This is absolutely something we can assist you with. I have modified several of the biology lessons to conduct with lower elementary students. I sent you an e-mail with my contact information so we could discuss it further. We also hope to be posting some of those modifications to the website soon for other elementary teachers and we would love your assistance in vetting some of the modifications we have developed.
