Similarity and Congruency of Triangles

This lesson is an exploration into congruency and similarity of triangles in which students test ways of showing triangle congruency with a hands-on experience. There are six possible shortcuts for showing congruency between triangles. These three-part rules are relied upon heavily to prove the congruency of triangles, but are often taught as a matter of fact. This lesson introduces rules, such as SAS (side-angle-side), as possible ways to show congruency between two triangles, but leaves the proof to students who then create an plan to test each case.
