# Synopsis

**Lesson Snapshot**

**1. Engage: **Students will watch a YouTube video: “The Rappin’ Mathematician: ‘The Number Line Dance’”** **

**2. Explore: **Students will use positive and negative cards to help them visualize the relationship between positive and negative numbers. Students will use a game from The National Library of Virtual Manipulatives.** **

**3. Explain: **Students will create a poster demonstrating their understanding.

**4. Extend/Expand: **Students will create a real world situation in which positive and negative numbers are used. Students will create a song/skit to demonstrate their situation and solution.** **

**5. Evaluate: **Student evaluations will be based on the provided rubric.
