Lesson Snapshot

1. Engage:  Students will list everything they know about the Twin Towers and 9-11.

2. Explore:  Students will read a PBS article, “Biography: Tightrope Between the Towers” and answer questions.  Students will answer inference questions and provide support with cited information.

3. Explain:  Students will read a Twin Towers timeline using the K20 Tool Why-Lighting strategy.

4. Extend/Expand:  Students will research the Twin Towers.  Students will choose a time frame of the towers to focus on and write a research report/ project.

5. Evaluate: Using a rubric, teacher and/ or students will evaluate research paper and/ or project.
