In this lesson students explore the Fibonacci Number Sequence and the Golden Ratio and how they relate to the world around us.  Students will discover how the Golden Ratio exists in the human body and how we have more in common than we think due to the proportions that exist in our body structure.  Students start by looking at various structures and shapes and picking out those that are most pleasing to the eye.  Students are introduced to the Golden Ratio and the Fibonacci Number Sequence.  Students Explore this further by taking various body measurements, i.e. arm length vs. forearm length, and calculate the ratio of these measurement only to discover the Golden Ratio exists within our skeletal structure.  Students then research to find multiple objects in their home that also fit the Golden Ratio and describe them notating the measurements.  This lesson is designed to pair with What is Beauty? as a Math/Science/Art Interdisciplinary Lesson.
