Math and English Interdisciplinary Lesson
One of the common questions around mathematics is about the purpose it has in our lives. This lesson attempts to marry the idea of self-concept with story telling and mathematical representation. This idea will extend to many mathematical process standards, while introducing students to methods of communication that will be beneficial in broadening the student’s perspective of their future.
In this lesson, students develop a personal 2-D timeline, free write about who they are, develop a haiku based on their future, and then do data gathering and organizing in order to prepare their own infographic.
