I can honestly say that this lesson is continuing to get better each time. In this part, Algebra 2 students are able to take a much more analytical approach to the question of how long it takes for a beef cube dissolve. Also, students begin to challenge themselves to create a more accurate representation of the degradation process.

In Where’s the Beef? (Part 3), students are invested in the question and explore quadratic equations, matrices, discriminants, and parent graphs.

This series of lessons is perfect for teachers who are willing to put a little elbow grease into their preparation in order to get their students thinking and doing. I can’t wait to hear what you think about it. Please share your experiences and advice below!
