Reconstruction: From the Civil War to Katrina
Students will conduct a parallel study of the reconstruction after the Civil War in the Southern states and compare and contrast it to the reconstruction after Hurricane Katrina. After completing a research assignment, students will analyze how one event impacted the other and make connections.

They where able to study the hardships of the slaves(free-men) and the treatment that they endured and compare this to the treatment of the citizens who where affected by Katrina.
