Professional Development

K20alt provides content-specific Professional Development, in-depth lesson study, and opportunities for educators to connect in order to dialogue about best practices. Through Virtual Communities of Practice, K20alt Content Specialists can facilitate meaningful conversations centered on impacting the classroom.

Teaching, Modifying, and Evaluating K20alt Lessons

Educators can acquire content-specific Professional Development by completing K20alt lessons and submitting the K20alt Lesson Reflection document. The Lesson Reflection will be reviewed by a K20alt Content Specialist, and PD points will be recommended based on the quality of the feedback and evaluation provided. Teachers will need to submit a K20alt Lesson Reflection for each lesson taught in the classroom.

Creating Original Content

Educators can earn content-specific Professional Development by submitting original lesson ideas. K20alt Content Specialists can help you turn your idea into published content on the site. Simply submit your idea and we will help you develop a K20alt Community Group in which you can build your lesson plan, collaborate virtually with other teachers, and ultimately publish your lesson.
